“JUSTICE 2.0″ on 21 April 2016 at the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia

The Platform of European Memory and Conscience is cordially inviting to a discussion seminar “JUSTICE 2.0″ which will take place on Thursday 21 April 2016 from 11.00-14.40 at the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia, Ljubljana. The event is being held under the auspices of Mgr. Bojan Kekec, Member of the National Council of the Parliament of the Republic of Slovenia and in cooperation with the Study Centre for National Reconciliation.

At the seminar, we will present the results of the project “International Justice for the Communist Crimes” during which we identified surviving persons responsible for crimes against humanity committed under Communism in Europe. They include the surviving members of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and others.

Speakers will be Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tamara Griesser Pečar, head of the Research Programme at the Study Centre for National Reconciliation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jernej Letnar Černič, Professor of Human Rights, Graduate School of Governmental and European Studies from Kranj, manager of the project Dr. Neela Winkelmann and members of the International Legal Advisor Team of the Platform of European Memory and Conscience Dr. Clotilde Pégorier, formerly of the Department of criminal law and criminal procedure including international criminal law at the University of Zurich, Switzerland and currently at the School of Law, University of Essex, UK, and Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult Albin Eser, MCJ, Director emeritus of the Max Planck Institute for foreign and international criminal law and former judge at the International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia from Freiburg, Germany. Moderator will be Dr. Jože Dežman, historian, head of the Governmental Commission on the Concealed Graves.

The seminar will conclude by a screening of the documentary film “JUSTICE 2.0″.

Platforma evropskega spomina in vesti vas vljudno vabi na seminar  z naslovom JUSTICE 2.0, ki se bo odvijal v četrtek 21. aprila 2016, od 11.00 do 14.40 v Državnem svetu Republike Slovenije, Šubičeva 4, Ljubljana. Dogodek poteka pod pokroviteljstvom mag. Bojana Kekca, poslanca Državnega sveta Republike Slovenije in v sodelovanju s Študijskim centrom za narodno spravo.
V okviru seminarja bomo predstavili rezultate projekta »Mednarodna pravičnost za zločine komunizma«, med katerim smo identificirali še živeče osebe, odgovorne za zločine proti človečnosti, zagrešene v času komunizma v Evropi. Med njimi so preživeli člani predsedstva Centralnega komiteja Komunistične partije Češkoslovaške in drugi.
Govorniki bodo doc. dr. Tamara Griesser Pečar, vodja raziskovalnega programa Študijskega centra za narodno spravo, izr. prof. Jernej Letnar Černič, strokovnjak za pravo človekovih pravic,  vodja projekta dr. Neela Winkelmann in člani mednarodne ekipe pravnih svetovalcev Platforme evropskega spomina in vesti dr. Clotilde Pégorier, Univerza v Zürichu, Švica, trenutno Pravna fakulteta, Univerza v Essexu, Velika Britanija, in prof. dr. dr. h.c. mult. Albin Eser, MCJ, zaslužni direktor Max Planck inštituta za tuje in mednarodno kazensko pravo in nekdanji sodnik Mednarodnega sodišča za vojne zločine na območju nekdanje Jugoslavije iz Freiburga, Zvezna republika Nemčija. Moderator dogodka bo dr. Jože Dežman, zgodovinar, predsednik Komisije Vlade Republike Slovenije za reševanje vprašanj prikritih grobišč.

Seminar se bo zaključil s predvajanjem dokumentarnega filma JUSTICE 2.0.
